Are you interested in joining 4-H? Are you curious what age division you would be?
ALL AGES ARE BASED OFF THE MEMBERS AGE ON OCTOBER 1ST OF THAT 4-H YEAR.
-Kindergarten thru age 7 are Primary
These members can do everything except show and handle horses.
-8 thru 10 years old are Juniors
These members can do everything, including showing and handling horses. But they can't participate in the Medals, State Fair equine exhibit or Green Horse programs.
-11 thru 13 years old are Intermediates
These members are free to participate in every program, they are also eligible for state competition.
-14 thru 18 are Seniors
These members are also free to participate in every program, they are also eligible for state competition.
-A members is too old for the 4-H program the year they are 19 on October 1st of that 4-H year.
-Novice is a riding level, NOT an age division. Novice riders must be in their 1st and 2nd year of showing. Once the rider has shown in a canter class they are no longer eligible for the Novice program.
